How Does It Work?
Book publishing is complicated, but we've simplified the process to bring you a clear and fun path to creating your story and keep you informed at every step of the way.

-
Choose your package (Standard or Premium), select any add-ons (e.g., Custom Artwork, Electronic Flipbook, or Additional Copies) and pay online OR email us for projects requiring special pricing. (E.g., Do you have a talented child or niece/nephew who you would like to involve in your project as illustrator? Do you want to write your own story and simply need help illustrating and bringing it all together? Will you need a lot of copies of your book? Do you want to use family photos instead of illustrations?)
-
We will email you a story-naire to complete and send back within two business days. This is a questionnaire designed to help you tell us the basics of the story you’d like to tell. Your story-naire contains a unique order number, which you can use when calling or emailing with questions.
-
One of our professional writers will be in touch with you to schedule an interview. They will work around your preference for phone or online chat. Interviews generally take 30-45 minutes.
-
Once your story takes shape, you will receive a draft to review and approve.
-
When you’re happy with the story, a designer or illustrator (if you choose the "Custom Artwork" option at checkout) will be assigned to your project. We may ask you for additional information at this time, like the color of the house in which you grew up, or what your childhood pet looked like. This is to make sure that everything about your story is uniquely yours.
-
You will receive a PDF to review before your book goes to the printer.
-
Once we get your thumbs up, our printer will create and send you four copies — one for you and three to share.

From start to finish, your project can take approximately between six and 12 weeks, depending on a variety of factors. For one, high-quality writing, design, and illustration work take time. Other factors that may come into play include the length of our queue, any delays in obtaining your completed story-naire and scheduling interviews, or in obtaining illustrations or text from you that you would like included, etc. However, we promise to keep you apprised of the progress of your book at every step.
